Advantages of 2/3” CCD Cameras
Cameras employing 2/3” CCD imagers offer advantages over 1/2", 1/3” and 1/4 ” imagers found in less expensive Prosumer camcorders and palmcorders.
Here are some 2/3” CCD advantages:

Superior low light capability.

Superior signal to noise ratio.

Superior at resolving small detail in wide shots.

Superior gray scale, contrast and highlight handling.

Shallower depth of field capability for a more “film like” look. • samples

The best video lenses are made for 2/3” CCDs.

Current 2/3” CCDs exhibit little to no vertical smear on highlights.

2/3” CCDs are available in native 16:9 widescreen sizes vs. widescreen
derived from 4:3 CCDs normally found on smaller CCDs.

2/3” digital processing cameras typically provide more menu driven control
parameters for precise camera setup and flexibility for control of the image.
